A D.-V.A.S. jammer (aka prey) fights off an attack from a Death Track Doll sporting a cheetah helmet while an onlooking zebra referee hangs back.
This is another shot from a recent Toronto Roller Derby match last weekend. A lomo preset was used to add an interesting effect.
P.S. Sorry for the wildlife references… the image just reminds me so much of a cheetah hunting prey with zebras in the background. No offense to anyone, the outfits are cool! Too many nature programs for me, I think! 😉

I attended a Toronto Roller Derby match last weekend. The Death Track Dolls vs. The D.-V.A.S. (Deadly Viper Assassination Squad–pronounced ‘divas’). In this shot, the jammer (with the star on her helmet) leads the pack (the rest of the blood-thirsty skaters behind her) in one round, scoring a few points.
The match was quite entertaining and I highly recommend attending. I liken it to a human form of NASCAR, but it’s all-women and they’re on roller skates. 🙂
*A lomo preset was used.

A closeup of a Canadian goose at the park last fall. He’s acting all cool with grass sticking out of his bill. They were quite friendly actually, but maybe because we were feeding them. These nice little guys were a little slow to grab the food, and seagulls were swooping in and stealing it from them. The offending gulls were captured in an earlier post.

The lady in this photo is a self-made tourist attraction in Havana, Cuba. She sits there all day, waiting for the various tour groups to pass by. For a peso she will pose for you while you take her photo. If you try to sneak a photo without paying she hides her face. So I can’t take credit for a “candid” photo, but I do like the colours none the less.

Is graffiti vandalism or art? This is from a series of shots taken outside the Keele St. subway station, Toronto.
