The wreck of the S.S. Maheno on Fraser Island, Australia.
The Maheno has a long history, stretching back to 1905 when it was built in Scotland to be used as a luxury liner for travel between Australia and New Zealand. It served in the first world war as a hospital ship, and then was converted back to a luxury liner after the war. In 1935 it was declared outdated and was being towed to Japan for scrap. Along the way it encountered a cyclone and washed ashore where it remains to this day.

An apartment building located across the street from El Capitolio, Cuba’s old seat of government. I found it surprising how dilapidated the buidings were across from such a popular tourist attraction.

The recreation yard at Alcatraz penitentiary. The entrance to the yard is above the prison walls, and from there you can see the bustling mainland about a mile away. Once in the yard, your view is restricted to a 10 foot concrete wall with razor wire.
