Hopewell Forest

This is the trail down to the Hopewell flower pot rocks, shown in my last post. The forest was so green and lush I just had to take a picture of it. Only slight saturation adjustments were made to the image to try to convey the lushness of the forest.

Jelly Balls

We bought these weird jelly balls that absorb and retain water so that plants can grow in them. A sort of decorative soil, if you will. The balls start out as tiny grains that look like dried fish eggs, but once you soak them in water for a few hours, they grow to about half an inch in diameter. I thought they looked interesting up close, and actually sort of reminded me of the Macintosh screensaver. But once I started taking photos, I realized there was a lot more detail going on, which I find makes the photo a lot more interesting.

This image makes a great wallpaper. You can download a copy here.
